Kailani grew up in Kailua. She is uncovering her past through interactive storytelling. The transmedia messenger is called a Topaz Blue Crane. It contains a small radio frequency identification (RFID) tag that allows us to write links to personalized stories in the form of poems, dances, songs, photos, and videos. Touch the wing of the crane with a near field communication (NFC) cell phone to retrieve, replay, and share moments in time. Kai is learning about the Japanese-American Internment Camps during World War II through interactions with her grandmother. Please help us find her grandma’s lost photos and memories in time. We want to fill in the void before it is lost forever.
